Best flash hole debur tool?

Im in the dont touch em camp. Some folks like to tinker- and thats fine- but on lapua brass used in actual competition youll be doing more harm than good.

That maybe true , Lapua brass is top shelf . Never had the pleasure using Lapua brass , I've been using FC , RC , Speer an some others . With those brands I do uniform , deburr inside and out also make flash hole the same diameter using the #45 drill bit .

What is the best flash hole debur tool? The clincher is I don’t want to shave the actual flash hole, just the burrs. Small primer lapua brass .059 and don’t want to expand them.
21st Century, hands down best. But most times it cuts nothing on Lapua brass anyway.

I have the same question. I am shooting Lapua 6.5 Creedmoor and when I clean by brass I get cleaning stuff stuck in the flash hole. I have what I thought was a universal flash hole tool but it will not actually enter the hole to clean and deburr it. I don't know what the actual size of the flash hole is either.

I use an extra length #1 center drill in a hand chuck. Just want to remove the inner burr that the punch process makes while forming the flash hole. I'm a machinist by trade and do not like burrs. :)

I realized the need for cleaning up flash holes while picking tumbling media out using an awl. Push the little piece of walnut through and realize that it pointing at an angle towards the side of the case.

Using a drill bit of same or 001“under the flash hole size as a gauge and to be able to check angle might just change thinking about if something needs done.

Lapua is good brass, but certainly not perfect. At least not what I have checked.

The K&M with the positive stop at the cutting edge has served me well, and differing lengths or even cartridges is not a problem.

If you turn by hand, you can feel the burr. Kind of lets you know if you’re making a difference.

I use a K&M flash hole uniform tool. It does open the flash hole from what Lapua says is .059" to .062". The tool also cuts a chamfer on the inside. For me, this is a one time deal. On subsequent reloads I use the same tool to remove any carbon that might be an obstruction with a quick turn or 2 of the tool.

I've seen a "BirdsNest" like that in Norma 6PPC brass. But so far, any Lapua .220R brass has been free and clear. Good find though, it shows that you're paying attention!!! Good on ya!!!
