Everything you observe about where bullet holes show up is, therefore......about worthless.

With the same lot of match ammo and the same barrel, ES and SD will vary from one box to the next.

To illustrate, the same lot of Midas had a best ES/SD per box of 22.9 and 4.6 respectively. In the same barrel the widest per box ES was 32.0 with an SD of 6.5.

This was perhaps the most consistent lot of Midas I tested in 2024. Not all lots were nearly so consistent in terms of ES and SD. Performance on target is another matter and isn't necessarily predicted by chrony numbers.

Its nice to know the numbers but I rely mostly on what target and group says.
