Best deer video I ever saw

Yeah deer definitely don’t like birds of prey.

Last year I watched a doe in a field trying to fend off two bald eagles from getting her fawn. Unfortunately a fawns natural instinct to danger is to lay down and be perfectly still. The mother put up a hell of a fight and tried to get the fawn to move multiple times. But the fawn stayed put thinking it was hidden in the grass and the eagles eventually wore the mother out to the point where she didn’t have any energy left. Then they got their feast.

Just frozen with fear. The mother put up a hell of a fight and tried to get the fawn to move multiple times. Watch it again. The hawk did not "fall from the nest", it jumped a rabbit, which you can see escaping after the deer attacks.

Several years ago, I was sitting in an elevated stand at the junction of two senderos. Watched an older doe walking towards me at about 300 yards. Several cottontails seemed to come out of the brush to greet her. She would sniff at them and kept walking. My hunting buds looked at me sideways when I mentioned this in camp. But we all had seen deer chasing bobcats on this ranch.

If you listen to the audio on the vid, you can hear the rabbit screaming. This doesn't sound much different from a bawling fawn.
