best coyote SHOTGUN load?

I have a predator control permit, and do to the area it would not be safe to use a rifle. so what would everyone reccommend?

I am using a Carlson's Coyote choke tube and Remington 12 gauge, 3", number 4 buckshot. 41 pellets.

I am guessing the "varmint extra full" and Carlson's Coyote would be close to each other.

#1 Buck (30 cal.) has been my choice for heavy varmint
when a rifle can't be used. A good mag load will throw
15 pellets pretty tight out of my 24" modified tube.

If you are willing to spend the money the TSS shot is the way to go. At 18 g/cc it is in a league of its own. Number 9's for turkey out to 70 yards, flattens coyotes to 50 yds, #5's drop sandhill cranes over 100 yards, #2's for pigs and deer.

Actually I believe mine is a Carlson's also. Been on the same 870 for years.

There's lots of good stuff now, but it's tough to beat Federal Premium 3" buffered copper plated #4 buck. It is devastating on both ends of a pump gun. jd

Hevi-shot dead coyote load. It is what they use around here to shoot them out of planes. I have shot a some out to 100 yds and a lot @75 yds! it is a deadly load.

I shoot a Franchi 3 1/2" with a Carlson hevishot Dead Coyote Choke
I have killed coyotes out to 65 yards using Dead Coyote T shot.
Other guys here use #4 Buckshot.
