Best cleaning rod out there?

Just recently re-barreled my 284 and went from a 30 inch to a 32 inch barrel only to realize my cleaning rod will not work. I have been running Pro-shot cleaning rods for a few years and find them excellent but they only make a 42 inch rod, I need a 48 inch. I ordered one from a reputable maker but is not even close to being straight. They are replacing it free of charge with another one. If this one comes through crooked I will be looking to go with a different brand. I would like your opinions on the best cleaning rods out there. Thanks

Probably kicking a hornets nest but have tested it...Tipton.
If I could get a 45-50" Tipton for a 6/6.5 I would still be using one. I have bent two Bore-stix :rolleyes:yes...likely me at fault), had a handle on one disintegrate, bearings not spin free on another. I have a 15+ year old Tiptons for a 22-250 and .17 Remington that still work great.

However, I have a couple of Ivy's on order...

Sorry, no carbon fiber rod for me. Read the Tipton reviews. I don't trust any Chinese factory worker to epoxy the tips on straight, fabricate the rod so it is as straight as a steel rod.....or epoxy the handle on correctly. I have seen what splintered carbon fiber does to flesh....and it is fugly.

I like dewey coated rods. just be carefull not to get grit in it.i bought my first dewey in 1989 and it is still in excellent condition. I have a couple more caliber specific and they are just great rods.

I make my own, just made a 22cal carbon fiber rod in 48" and will be making one 25cal next. Adjustable loose ball bearing handles too.

I like the coated Dewey rods too, but how can you possibly be sure not to get any grit in it?

Again, I tested to my satisfaction, the notion that cf was too abrasive. In my test, it proved far superior to bare ss...and it wasn't even close. That's all I have to say about this but am open to hearing anyone else's firsthand testing procedures and results.
