Best cleaning patches?

Whatever alternative you look at, imo, try a few to see if the weave is super tight and your cleaning fluid doesn't soak in, but it runs off. I've tried several others, vs ProShot and none measure up. Search for what you want online. You can reverse the patch after one pass to use the somewhat cleaner other side I suppose.

I tried the DIY patch making and that was nothing but frustration- any size variation in the cut patches resulted in either too loose or too tight (fighting a patch down the bore simply sucks) not to mention the thickness of the bulk material and weave is never the same when buying a new lot. I will stick with Pro-Shot patches.

I do notice that their patches seem to have more stray threads on them than I ever remember.
Yea, they do have some for sure in a bag but the bags I've had, they are the exception rather than the rule.

I've tried others such a Bore Tech, Dewey, and Sinclair and they all suffered from the same problem to some extent. I am open to trying another brand as long as they are cotton flannel.

Pro shot patches are the only ones I use. Just seeing more threads in them now. Maybe using different material supplier.

Sinclair Int'l were my favorite until they sold out, then I switched to Pro-Shot. Took one of the 2" Sinclair patches to a local fabric store and matched it to 100% cotton flannel in stock, bought a rolling cutter same time. You'd be amazed at how little that costs and how many patches can be made quickly. I don't buy pre-made patches anymore.

My local supplier of pro shot cleaning products is no more. I like the pro shot patches but I go through them like crazy while chambering so many barrels. I’d like to source something in equal quality but perhaps a bit less money. What patches do you all enjoy using?
Lee Gardner Precision
hello Lee, i use my wifes quilt cutting board and a rotary cutter.I get 100 percent cotton flannel material from walmart at 2.97 per yard and cut my own. it only takes minutes to cut hundreds of patches. you can cut different sizes for all the calibers.1 yard makes a ton of patches.if your not trying to measure and make them perfect you could cut thousands in an hour.you would pay probably 45.00 for a cutting board and rotary cutter and the money you save on patches would quickly pay for that.some people will say they are too busy, but you can cut thousands very quickly.I havnt bought patches in 20 years and i clean lots of barrels.

Birchwood Casey 1 -1/2 for 6mm. You can even roll them around a Parker Hale jag. These are the best, Dunham Sports and Amazon has them. I found them at a local gun store a few years ago and I was impressed right fron the get-go. The 1-3/4 will even fit in a 6mm as well.

I use the midway brand and are way cheaper than anyones.
These (midway brand) are okay but not as good as the pro-shot and then Skyline(2nd best) in my opinion. The midway brand is the only brand that I've had pull off of my jags on the pull stroke. Not sure what the reason is but none of the others have ever done it. I use the Tipton nickle coated jags if that matters. Maybe it's the jags and not the patch material?
