Don't even try to shoot it like a bolt gun hang on and drive the gun.

+2 to needing a different shooting style. Free recoil or a loose grip is NOT going to work, there is a lot of mass slamming around in an AR-10, even compared to an AR-15. Have to really drive the gun consistently and have solid follow-through.

I shoot mainly gas guns, but when I get a chance to shoot my buddy's bolt gun with a heavy barrel, brake, light trigger, etc I can't believe how much easier it is.

Check out Accuracy Systems in Colorado. Carl built my 6xc ar 10 and did a fine job. Tell him what you want and he will build it. Custom all the way from caliber, twist rate, and gas system to optimize for what caliber you are wanting. I think he will even do a wsm based cartridge.

I 2nd Craddock precision. Buy a bartlein barrel chambered by them and put it together yourself. It’s easy enough I can do it so I’m sure you can too.
