Best ammo reloading block?

I am trying to find a few different style ammo blocks for reloading and also to use for load testing at the bench. I want a block that will hold 50 rounds while reloading and a smaller block to use while testing. I want the blocks to be heavy enough to not be easily rattled or moved if accidentally bumped. Also needs deep holes to hold cases well.

I primarily shoot 284 Winchester, and the 308 Winchester family (308, 7mm-08, 243).

I’ve also considered a “bleacher” type block like Lyman offers.

I’m having a hard time finding what looks like will fit my needs.

Can you guys, and gals, make some suggestions and point me in the right direction?

Also, please give me your opinion on material used for the block. For example, are the heavy poly blocks any better than the aluminum block?

The Sinclair 50 round heavy duty loading blocks are nice for the cartridges you listed. They are made from polyethylene, machined well and durable. They also make a 25 round block but I don’t think it’s as thick as the 50 round heavy duty one.

I use the Lyman bleacher blocks at the reloading bench and they are great but i don't take them to the range. That's what plastic ammo boxes are for.

www.area419.com A bit on the high end but these guys make excellent products. I don't have their loading block but I did all their up-grades for the FX/Autotrickler combo and am very pleased.

Rick

very nice blocks, heavy, deep well fitting holes, outer edge has a rim at the top so they are easy to grip and carry. I have four and wouldn't consider any others.

I highly recommend these trays!! I bought 2 to try. They were so well made, I ordered another 3! Given how well they’re made, they’re the deal of the year! They make good presents to fellow reloaders, too! He’ll put your name on them, if you ask.

I use my ammunition box
When the cases is primed and ready to load the go in the box primers up
That way I know the have been primed
Then I put the powder in the case and seat the bullet an the go back with the bullet up
That way I never have forgot to prime or powder the case
Any pressure Change if fell in seating goes in a different row and they as my siighters

Just my .02, viperbench-rest.com makes a heavy loading block. Looks nice, I do not have one but would look good on my bench. I do have one their barrel vises and the quality is great.
