A used unit bearing off of a car/pickup. I dug it out of the scrap bin and had my buddy who manufactures live bottom trailers cut off the sloppy plastic bushing and weld on the bearing. The BR Pivot rest was next to USELESS as it was. It is unbeilivable how EZ it "pivots" now!!

I believe it's their portable shooting bench that also pivots with the seat and shooting platform as one piece.

Well, maybe junker is going a bit far, as I see that some individual installed the adjusting cams upside down, allowing no movement whatever; hence the bent adjusting screw. I've got an original bench I use weekly that was made in 1999, and with the proper care and lubrication, it's still going strong and is in perfect condition.
Please do note that the bench pictured is a Caldwell/ChiCom unit, and NOT one of our originals made here in Oregon.
If you decide you want an original BR Pivot padded seat instead of the wooden anomaly seen in the photo, let me know.

I have the original seat....but, I like to sit back further than it allowed. I have a pad that fits over the plank....nice and comfy. As far as the cams..LOLOL...I had it dissasembled this winter and threw it together at about 3 am the other night...and no I wasn't drunk, and no it wasn't dark. I plead the fifth on the whole cam deal. I just threw it together so the guys at the shop could see how the whole thing works. I'm pretty sure the bolt got bent today before I got out the camera. Measure twice...cut once could be the lesson here!!
I can weld, but I CAN NOT weld aluminium...that is why it went to the shop. All I know is that last year I fought and fought with this thing....you had to actually stand up to get it to swivel

Actually...I just went to correct my "cam problem" that you said I had. The cam is installed correctly....it just got rotated out of position when it was folded up and I didn't notice when i unfolded to take the pictures.. Pictures are taken 3 seconds apart...all I did was fold the leg and rotate the cam into it's proper position.
I never had any problems with the legs.....and I was happy with the seat...I was happy with the design of the rest of it. It's just that the dam thing would not rotate and it was SLOPPY. Sure, it "stiffened up" when you put a bind on it by sitting on it, but you had to "unload " it to make it swivel. The wooden top.....EXCELLENT. The workmanship...EXCELLENT. THE "pivot".....NOT so much. The bent adjusting bolt.....ALL ME!!

The new bearing allows the shooter and top to rotate 360 degrees as a unit. It always could rotate, but it relied on a plastic sleeve and it didn't work very well. The top also rotates, but that is more to make it fit the shooter. Once you find the right fit between the seat and top you lock it in place and kill. kill, kill!!!
I really wish i could figure out how to place a video. It would them be self explanitory. If it were me, I would offer this as an option for say 150 - 200 bucks strait from the factory.
You ruined my day because I threw mine away 7 years ago because it was bound up so bad between steel and aluminum. I miss it. I used mine even for extreme shooting by adding an adjustable leg to go from the ground to support the bench maybe 8 inches from the edge. YOU would pull it up till it moved top up a bit then cinch down. Made a huge difference. I also kept the padded seat and stem for some reason?
