BEST 22 mag ammo for my new marlin

I have always wanted a 22 mag so i bought one.WOW!! does it shoot good.around a 1 inch at 100yards.i was shooting hornadys 30gr. vmax. what is the most accurate ammo for this cartridge.

Not an easy answer, since each gun is so different. The only true solution is to buy one box of each bullet weight and do the research for yourself.

Ditto on the Dr.'s orders.

1" is very good. The most consistently accurate ammo I found was the Remington Premier.

What rifle did you buy?

It is STANLESS marlin 983s bolt action,with 12 capacity tube,and brown laminate stock.

I have the same gun. Mine likes the CCI's, they were very cheap a few years back and I bought over 20 boxes of them. These shoot good enough for yote's. The best shooting were a Federal make but I can't recall which one. Remington come out with a new 22mag round several years ago and it shot better than the Federal but it was a tad more expensive. I will continue to shoot the CCI's until I run out and then I will find the next best one. No two guns will like the same ammo so you just need to buy what you can get and see what your rifle likes to eat. If you are liek me you will get really fond of that Marlin, mine is a tack driver. I will say that mine needs a fouling shot once you clean it to get the groups back. The more I shoot the rifle the better it gets.
