Best .22 cal VMAX

don't rule out the 53 nosler varmageddon people. bc is just a smidge less than the 53 vmax but offers much better stability in a 12 twist if you want to shoot past transonic.

precision is right there with the 53 vmax for me as well

Here's my issue with vmax bullets, a significant percentage of side chest shots(22-250) on coyote result with an exit low between the front legs. It's very odd because it hasn't happen with NBT. The wound is fatal, the coyote usually runs a short distance (less than 50'). I still put up and sell well furred, minor damage pelts. So any large skin damage I want to avoid. For me it makes sense, Hornady sells them as prairie dog/gopher bullets.
Sierra 55 grain will be more consistent in my opinion

Giggity...I'll be the odd one out and throw a vote for the 60gr....taken alot of fur over the years with the 60.

In 12 twists, I shoot the 53's
In the 14 Twists, I shoot the 50/55

53s maybe the perfect coyote bullet at 3700 fps, just dead.

I've shot a lot of the 40's, 50's, 52's and 55's. I prefer the 52's, though I loaded up on the 50's when they used to sell the Z-Max packages of 500 bullets for $50.00. If I ever get through them, I'll switch to the 52's, though I'm really happy with the 50's for ground squirrels, sage rats and coyotes. Does a great job on them and very accurate. I have a few buddies using the 60's and they speak very highly of them as well. I haven't tried the 60, but if I could pick only one from the four that I have used a lot, it would be a very slight nod to the 53, then the 50, 40 and 55 in that order. My rigs range from 1-12" to 1-8" twist, mostly 1-9"

I would get splash hits and spinners and runners on coyotes with the 50 gr. 55’s would anchor them DRT. Went to a .243 with 58 Vmax. Bang flop - no exits, jellied insides.
I whacked a coyote yesterday morning with my .243, using the 58 V-Max. The range finder said 365 yards. Bang. WHAP. He was flopping a bit but down. I should have popped him again but felt it wasn't needed. He crawled off into some heavy stuff, down the backside of the hill he had been ready to crest. Huge pool of frothy blood. He wasn't going far. Those 58's, using Reloader 15 are the magic juice for that rifle. Very accurate. In my .223's, I much prefer 50 Varmint Grenades for coyotes over the 50 and 55 V-Max, though the 60 V-Max may make me a believer. I need to try that one.
