Berger SW Long Range Nationals Program Change

Shooters,

The NRA has notified us that, as of January 2014, they will no longer recognize mid range prone and F class events that consist of less than 20 record shots per string. Therefore the 45 shot mid range event in the Berger, scheduled for Wednesday Feb 5th, will now be three 20 shot strings instead of three 15's. So for those attending please plan your ammo supplies accordingly. This new ruling from the high power committee will also affect our State Mid Range Championships in April. The match program is being re-written and will basically say that the match will now be a three day event with four person team matches with irons and any sights on that Friday. Saturday will now be three 20 shot string with irons and Sunday will be three 20 shot strings with any sights.

Wow that is kinda some shocking news. Memphis holds a 15 shot 45 agg two day Regional every spring... looks like that will change to our 60 shot format from here on out.
That will reduce the amount of National Record paper work for the NRA by a large margin... Maybe thats why? Or low amount of registered matches have come in from clubs across the country?

Honostly I decided to run some 45shot agg matches because there where new New National Records up for grabs in all classes. FTR open, FTR Civ, FTR Senior, junior, Grand Senior, Military, police, women. same with F-Open and Match rifle to include all the above plus any sight ( optic )and Iron sights ( Metallic).
That is what? 32 classes now closed for a National Record in Mid Range?

Waiting on the final word but I must assume it is only MR, otherwise it would be the death of fullbore. Who would want to shoot two or three to the mound with 20 shot strings!

We have been running our 45 shot iron and 45 shot any, mid range state championship match since 2008 and everyone loved the format.
