Berger Reloading Manual Question

I got the Berger Reloading Manual and noticed they didn't list H4350 in the load data for 6XC. Anybody know why? From all the stuff I've read on this site and heard elsewhere, I thought H4350 was the king for 6XC.

I really wouldn't know, but I didn't think of that. That's probably what it is. It just surprised me a little that it wasn't listed, because everybody and their dog says to use H4350 for 6XC

I thought so at first but then came upon the odd example that was more along the lines of what I have been seeing (.308 Juggernaut/Varget combo for example. Pretty much right on with one of my barrels). I think it is well worth the detailed information regarding bullet dimensions, B.C.s, etc.. It is all about the test barrels and components they used (or contracted to use). This is where a chronograph is invaluable. Get the velocity right (corrected for barrel length and extreme atmospheric conditions) and pressure should be there - pressure signs being your ultimate indicator.
Hornady and Sierra are similar. Hodgdon web version and Nosler Manual are more realistic in my experience. You can bet that Brian Litz and Michelle Gallagher are using their own loads regardless of what the company manual says...

I'm wondering how much of the Berger manual has been compiled from actual research gained from shooting various loads.

When I made an inquiry via e-mail all I got in return was a suggestion based on QuickLoad. When testing with them as my young grandson would say, "totally bogus".
