Berger Lot Numbers

I just received two boxes of Berger 215s. I requested the retailer send me two boxes of the same lot number. I wound up with P01047 and P01071. I do have a call into Berger, are these the same lot with just different shift times or something?

Yep. Two lots. Sadly not every retailer understands that it matters to people or just give lip service that they will because they know you ain’t sending them back. I literally had a company tell me once that they did send me 10 boxes of the sale lot and then rattled off the part number to me saying all their boxes are the same lot....

I should note that I’m not really someone who is super peculiar about only shooting one lot BUT if I’m ordering a bunch at one time I would prefer they were all the same.

You might be surprised. I have two newer 140 hybrid lots that are since the moved. Lot numbers like yours, and they measure(in every way I could check), and shoot identical. I didnt have to move anything, not the trimmer, not the pointer, not the seater. They are just identical.

About three weeks ago, I ordered three one lb containers of H4831sc to test in a new rifle. At the time of the order, I am convinced they were the only three one lb jugs commercially available in North America LOL. Once they arrived, two were of one Lot# and one was of a different Lot#. They all went into a powder mixing bucket together, and viola, out came three identical one lb Lots of H4831sc. It's a shame that approach doesn't work with bullets. Of course, shortly after I received them, several large U.S. vendors got new shipments of Hodgdon powders, including some H4831sc one pounders. I'm just going to roll with what I have and be happy that I have it.

My last set of Berger 215s were similar to what I have now. Last two digits of the lot numbers were off, but they seemed to sort the same. I kept them separated but with the way I measure bullets, I probably didn't have to.
