Berger Juggernaut vs VDL

Want to try some 185gn Berger Bullets for my .308 FTR rifle. What is the difference between the VDLs and the Juggernaut bullets? My rifle is a Savage Model 12 FTR with a 29" Kieger barrel. No idea what the free bore is on the barrel or how to measure it.

Thanks

My Savage FTR with the stock barrel shoots factory Federal Gold Medal Match with the 185 Juggernauts very well out to 900 yards. That is as far as I have been able to shoot.

Never shot the jugs but the VLDs shoot phenomenally well in my 10 twist 308. Been wanting to get a box of jugs to see how the shoot. Still won't be able to feed from magazines but wouldn't mind trying some. Like to compare them to the VLDs.

Jugs are less jump sensitive, transonic stable, hybrid ogive, which blends tangent and secant designs to optimize efficiency.

Plus they have a cool name.

They shoot well for me out of a factory 700 rifle. I can load them .010” off the lands and single feed them and get sub half minute 5 shot groups at 43.5 gr IMR4064 or load them mag length.150” jump at 43 gr and shoot 5/8” groups.

I shoot both the Jugg , and the 185 Hybrid . The Jugg gets .010 off touch , and 44.2gr of 4064 , and the Hybrid gets .005 off , and 43gr of Varget . Lapua SRP brass . Rifle is a Kelby Panda with a 30" Kreiger 5r , .180 FB . The Jugg should shoot good for you , but you'll probably have to play with seating depth a little bit if you use the Hybrid . Tried the VLD's once . That was enough of using a modified hunting bullet for Target shooting , for me .
