Berger bullets 6mm VLD Match vs. Target

I have been using the Berger 105 gr Match BT for years with very good success, (in a 6BR) but don't have any more. Since I have over 1000 of the Berger 105 gr VLD (very old lot # before they made hunting, target variants) I gave them a whirl last week. Using the seating depth method that Berger suggests trying, I have found a sweet spot jumping them .040 with the same powder charge that I was using with the BT's.

That's interesting, as i thought the new seating depth processes were pretty much focused on the Hunting VLD's. As I recall the days when I had the match VLD's almost all i heard was that they needed to be jamed about 10-15 thou, which is what I did then. It's good to know that jumping is OK as I'm about to open an old box/500 of Match target vld. The hunting vld's shot excellent for me in my 6 BR too, jumped 20 thou.
Thanks

The VLD has a secant ogive. The boat tail, a tangent ogive.

The boat tail target bullet is also MUCH easier to tune.
