Berger 95 VLD ...recovered from 'DEAD' deer

I posted this on the the 6mm forum --but thought it was appropriate to put it here on the hunting forum also...Here is a pic of a 95 gr VLD...it was used successfully on a 6 point buck....150+ lbs. at 205yds.......it was shot thru from side to side,destroyed all internal organs...)it droped like a two legged chair!!! and the bullet was found in the front 1/4 under the skin..,almost clear thru)....the 95 gr bullet retained 57 gr of wt....,63 % weight retension)........this bullet was fired from a 6mmBR --MV 2972 fps --Krieger four groove bbl.,,,you can see the four slits in the mushroom of the bullet!!!!!!)))...Roger
PS..didnt get a pic of the deer...but the loins shur sizzled nice in the skillet!!!

Well that looks like pretty much picture-perfect expansion. Congrats on the quick, clean kill - and now that you mentioned it, I'm hungry for venison! :)

This is proof in the puddin' that the Berger VLD's are an excellent bullet for whitetail. Hopefully some of the "never use match bullets for hunting" people will view your pictures.
 
YES _YES.....what an offer...sound like lots of fun ---good shootin ---good huntin---good company!!!!! what a combo.....I will try and schedule a trip out ur way at the rite time.....me and Dad can chit chat on the stand....the fun is over when the gun CRACKS!!!....but then the loins will be a sizzlin....Roger
 
Great post, shot few deer all with 105 amax myself, one at 400 yds, and yes from a BR. 2840 mv, but the 95 ballistic tip clocked 3k recently, putting it faster than my now sold 243.

Who needs a 243? Have to love the BR, got my first over 10 years ago.....
