Berger 75gr VLD

Anyone shot the Berger 75gr VLD in their service rifle at the long-line? If so, what did you think? What load worked for you? Jammed or jumped? Am thinking I might give them a try, starting with 24gr of RE15 and jammed about 0.005". Thanks. for any info.

I've given these a try, but didn't have much success. The consensus was that they're very difficult to tune, especially in a gas gun. Start 0.025" to 0.020" off the jam and then work around in 0.003". From what i've read they're very sensitive to having a proper COAL.

I went back to using a know good entity and a 80gr SMK.

AR Shooter,
Start on the lands and work back in .001 increments AT THE LOWEST POWDER CHARGE LISTED FOR THE BULLET/POWDER/CARTRIDGE COMBINATION YOU ARE TESTING PLEASE! Then work your load back up in 1/2 grain increments until you get 2 grains below MAXIMUM then drop to 1/10th grain increments. ( may be just 1/10th grain increment moves for this bullet/cartridge /powder combo). Make sure you have enough neck tension on the bullet so it will NOT set out or set back when chambered! This is key! If you don't then results and testing will be very erratic! If you need any more help. Contact us here or at techsupport@bergerbullets.com.

I have great luck with them. I load them tight to the Lans and use 24.8 grains of N140

I’ve been shooting them in an 8 twist 22-250 and finding that they are indeed sensitive to seating depth.
