Berger 73 gr Bullets with CFE223 in .223 load --- questions.

Gary, it's sold as a Hodgdon brand, but like all H. and Winchester ball powders, it's made by the former Olin Corp plant in St. Marks Florida. The St. Marks Powder Co. is part of the General Dynamics group and is the primary supplier of propellants for the US forces' smallarms ammunition.

CFE223 is likely a canister version of a powder developed for military loadings. There is constant R&D in this field to give improved performance and reduced weapon wear and tear.

Hodgdon lists and maintains an excellent powder burn rate chart. That might help in selecting powders that you have available that might have decent potential. From there it's quickload time.
