A curious why ?I would not recommend this bullet for deer size game.
Just because it is a target projectile or something else ?

My dyslexia kicked in . I was thinking of the .224 cal 90GR bullet. My bad.Barefooter is BERGER...that's why we are baffled.
THANKS, Plumsask for, the Tip,.. on the 87 gr. Berger, H-VLD's !Ahh yes, that would make more sense. I don't shoot anything with heavy 22 cal bullets so my mind didn't even go there.
Thanks but I wanted to hear what member doctorh had to say on this matter. The Berger Target has a Heavier thicker Jacket than the Hunting bullet and may not break up or expand in a broadside shot.
I mean. Was it not clear? What is the intended purpose of the above question ?
Was it coyotes ? Crows ? Prairie Dogs ? Deer ? Elk ? Moose ? What ?I mean. Was it not clear?
Probly easier to jusy ask your question that'a way, if that's what you meant. Was it coyotes ? Crows ? Prairie Dogs ? Deer ? Elk ? Moose ? What ?
Anything that can cause excessive heat and friction to a bullet can cause it to come apart on the way to the target. A few examples of this are , Velocities approaching or exceeding 3400 FPS, Bullet RPMS approaching or exceeding 300,000 RPM. Barrel length over 28 inches, Excessive barrel twist rate, BARREL CONDITION IE throat cracking, copper and carbon fouling , chipped lands. At what speed are these coming apart? And how does bbl heat effect this?
Well ..... what did he mean ?Probly easier to jusy ask your question that'a way, if that's what you meant.
