Has anyone tried these? Just got a box to try in my 6.5x47 Lapua AR10.
I had heard that also before I built mine but I have not experienced that problem with my Mega Arms MATEN using PMags. I also heard the "pierced primer" stories. I talked to JP Rifles about their LMOS BCG with their High Pressure Bolt prior to my build. It is a great combination with the SLR adjustable gas block. I have not had any problems with pierced primers as the HP bolt uses a smaller firing pin than most 308s. So far I have not had any malfunctions of any kind. I'm using a Bartlein 1-8 barrel and am just starting into load development. I think it will be a real hammer once I find the right load.Sorta off topic. There is a rumor that AR format rifle chambered in 6.5x47 Lapua have trouble feeding because the shoulder is too far back. Any truth to this? Can you share any misfeed/round chambered data?
I am on my second 6.5 x 47 barrel on my prrsonal AR-10.
At roughly 3000 rounds total for both barrels with no feeding issues.
Ive built several others for customers and they run fine also.
I have designed my own 6.5x47 barrels in 3D CAD system, and one design feature on the barrel does help with feeding long slender small diameter bullets.
There is only one 6.5 bullet that might give feeding trouble - the Berger 140 VLDT.
SG4247,I use a standard AR-10 barrel extension.
