Berger 6.5 140 grain hybrid

Is anyone out there tried using the Berger 140 grain hybrid in their 6.5 x 47 Lapua? (8 twist) It seems like a quite a bit of bullet for the Lapua, but I am having such good luck with the Berger 105 hybrid in my Dasher I thought I would ask about the 140. Ray

I am playing with them in my custom 6.5X47L which is more of a tactical rifle with detachable mag. Results are still inconclusive but i have done a powder test with 3 different powders, and RL-17 is far and away the powder to use with the 140's. I still need to play with seating depth and keep going up on my charge, but its on the back burner until fall.
I went to them in the 6.5 as i am also shooting the Hybrid 105 in my Dasher and they are awesome!

now I dont have a dog in this fight (no 6.5x47L) but my 260 Rem and 6.5x284 will sling them in the same hole @ 100 all day long! and both have shot under 7 inch 5 shot groups @ 1,000....and have seen other shooters under 5 inchs @ 1,000!

I`m scared to try them in the Creedmoor, its crazy accurate with the 140 A-Max`s.

I'm running the new 140 hybrid in my 6.5x47 Lapua. It is much more forgiving on seating depth than the VLD. My best 5 shot group at 1000 is 4 inches. Running 41.5 H4350, CCI 450, .015 from lands, 2920 fps.

140gr hybrid Is the way to go. I'm running 40.2gr of vv550 on the lands cci450 2900 fps.shoots 1.62 groups at 500 all day.
Tried rl17(temp.sensitive!!!!!!)

Also, how do you get 41.2g of H4350 into a case with a bullet on top?

I load 40.2g with 140g bullets and my loads are compressed. My barrel is throated for the 140s and I jump my loads.

I use these for 1000 yard. I use 40.0 gr. of H4350 with FGMM primers. This is my go to load on windy days at 600 also. I have several targets with small groups. My best being a 7 shot group measuring .308 at 300 yards. I find they shot better at distance than the 140 SMK's.

27 inch PAC NOR supermatch. I use a 5 inch drop tube to charge the case. I can get up to 42.5 grains in the case which will get me 2960 fps. I reload for a buddies 6.5 Lapua with a 26 inch McGowan and his velocities mirror the Pac Nor. COAL is just a shade over 2.8 and both rifles feed nicely from the magazine.

My brass is on its 5th reload and primer pockets are still nice and firm. Both rifles have the firing pin bushed by Gre-Tan. If you have excess clearance around the firing pin, you will likely pierce the primer at these higher pressures.

i love the hybreds when i can get them. i only load bergers. i shoot 130s=140vlds= and 140 hybrids all with same load! 40grs h4350 i dont change my dies just load all bullets at same setting. works great! i shoot out to 1000yds and just have change how i dial scope. on windy days the hybrids out shoots them all!
