Berger 6.5 130 Grain AR OTM Hybrid

I have a Seekins Havak Bravo in 6.5CM and it performs very well with Berger 130 VLD’s and H4350. I have a chance to pick up some of the Berger 130 OTM Hybrids, thoughts on how they’ll compare to the VLD’s appreciated. I know the only way to find out is to try them which I’ll probably do. I have no experience with the OTM’s.

Thanks much!!

My 6.5s love the OTM. I'm jumping it about .020" and it's going about 2900fps. One hole.

Allegedly the hybrids are less sensitive to bullet jump vs the VLD's that are said to be more sensitive to jump.

I have used the 140 hybrids for years and when they started to get scarce switched to
the 140 VLD's with very good results, although this was in a bolt action not a gas gun.

If the 130 VLD bullet works in your rifle the hybrid should be just as good if not better.

James,
You can use the 130 VLD load data in the BERGER MANUAL for the OTM HYBRID BULLET. General " rule of thumb" load development for this bullet is: In most cases with the Classic Hunter and 6.5mm OTM Hybrid bullets, your load development will just consist of seating the bullet to the published magazine length (COAL) of the cartridge you are loading. Then, work the powder charge up slowly checking for pressure signs and accuracy until you find a velocity accuracy node you wish to use or your highest velocity accuracy node is found. If you have any more questions, please feel free to contact us at any time.
