Berger 30 cal heavy Hybrid test

Hi everyone! We’re ready to start our last 30 cal Hybrid test. This one is for our 215 and 230 gr Hybrid bullets. These bullets were designed to shoot in a 10” or faster twist barrel. We need people who will be able to complete the testing by Oct 3rd. I’m trying to include as many different people as possible in these tests, so please feel free to email me again if you weren’t selected in past tests. Again I’m very sorry, but due to shipping and customs restrictions, we will only be able to include people within the continental US on the initial test. If you are interested, please send me an email at michelle.gallagher@bergerbullets.com with the following information:

-Name, contact and shipping information.
-Type of rifle you will use to test these bullets (with barrel twist).
-Type of test you plan to conduct.
*please mention that you found this on the Accurate Shooter forum.

We are looking for a variety of testing methods, so feel free to test them however you would normally test a new component. Those who are selected will be shipped 1 box each of our new 30 cal 215 and 230 gr Hybrid bullets right away. We will need you to report your results to us by Oct 3rd. Those who provide their results by then will receive another 3 boxes (300 bullets) of any Berger Bullets you choose as a thank-you from us for your time and effort.

We encourage those who are selected to report their results on this forum. We will have more tests coming soon, so keep an eye out for other opportunities down the road. Thank you all, and please let us know if you have any questions!

Warm Regards,
Michelle

Hi,I have two soo Win Mags for the testing one a savege and the other rem 700 Krieger 1-10 twist 26" on a trued rem action! let me know if I can help you out as i shoot berger bullet when I can and have had very good success with them! My e-mail ronwoodsranch@fmtc.com

I have a Remington Model 700 Sendero with a custom Douglas 28"barrel ( twist rate 1 in 10") that I shoot long range out to 1500 yards with the Berger 210 bullets. The action on this rifle has been trued and I use a Vias brake, Jewell trigger set at 16 ounces, Ken Farrel 20 moa one piece base, Burris signature zee rings, and a 10x50x60 Sightron scope.
I would very much like the opportunity to try these new 215 grain and 230 grain bullets and see what kind of accuracy I could obtain with them especially at the 1000 yard range. I would also have the time to do the load development and report my findings asap if given the opportunity. Thanks in ( advance for this opportunity to help out a respected bullet manufacturer that continues to raise the bar in new bullet development. You may reach me at:

PS : I would also use one of these bullets on an elk hunt that I am currently planning with an outfitter in MT and could report on the bullet's performance hopefully after taking a nice bull!

I would able to do the test with a Weatherby accumark 300 weatherby mag rifle 26" fluted 1-10 TW barrel with leupold 4.5x14x50mm scope and if I have enough freebore with a custom Winchester pre 64 model 70 that has been trued, master gunsmith borrowed custom reamer from Jack Kreiger to chamber the barrel, obermeyr R5 fluted SS 5 contour 26" 1-10 TW barrel, Mcmillan stock, and leupold 4.5x14x50mm scope. Range would be 300 yds. ladder test. New weatherby brass weight sorted, trimmed, IMR and H4350 powder weighed to 0.1 gr standard, Forster dies and ultraseater, and rounds loaded on Forster coax press. 5 rounds at each Seating depth and powder charge. I will chronograph the test loads. I have a highpower rifle competition expert classification. Found berger hybrid test on LR forum. I would use the 300 thank you bullets upon completing the test for F/TR class rifle competition. Thank you for the chance to test these bullets. Steve

I'd toss a couple guys out of contention right away because they can't follow directions :P :o

Hi Michelle,
I have been using Sierra 210's in my .300 Win mag prone rifle (1:10 Krieger heavy palma) and would like to try something that has a little more edge if I can. I will be shooting them with different loads over a chronograph, at a few 600 yard matches and at 1000 at Quantico. Can I be included in the test group? I am real interested in the hybrid line from what I have read.

Thanks,
JS

Preliminary testing looks great, 3 shot groups at 300yds and 500 meters were .33 moa with the 230gr bullet out of a 300 RUM shot prone with a bipod and rear bean bag.
Looks like these will be replacing the 240 SMK.
Will be testing later at 1000 and 1200 yds along with shooting them over chronograph.
I'm sure the 215's will be replacing the 210 VLD's if they shoot as good as the 230's.
