Berger 223 73 gr boat tail bullets

Does anyone have any information on this bullet, I would be loading them with Varget powder for 300 yd matches?
I don't have the Berger manual.

IMHO, it is a great bullet. Because at the time I had a pile of them, I used them for fireforming 223AI brass. While not quite as accurate as the preferred 80 grain VLD or 80.5 Fullbore in that 223AI, I was fireforming brass.

In plain jane 223, I would put it against the 77 SMK and probably above it. Don't buy any.

Forgot to add, I use 24-24.5 grains of that powder and a 205M. Re15 in the same amount is just as good. Don't buy any.

One of the best 22 cal bullets I've ever used. In a Savage BVSS with a 1:9 twist that bullet could clean F Class targets at 600 yards. In an AR with a 26 inch White Oak barrel (also 1:9 twist) it shot well enough to use as a backup mid range F Class gun. I used Varget and my load was higher that the book value in the previous post. Work up to higher loads because every gun is different.

How deep are you guys seating them ? How far off the lands ?

I typically run all of the 73-77 grain bullets mag length. I find the nose length on the 73's are pretty close so make a consistent length OAL loaded round. A 75 grain HPBT Hornady can drive you crazy (but shoot very well for me even then).
