Berger 168 BT vs 168 smk load data

I have some Berger 168 BT to try in my .308. My current accuracy load is with 45.5 Varget with the 168 smk. These are almost identical bullets measurement wise but I am unsure of base thickness. I will drop down a couple grains and work up in 1/2 increments to my current load but wondering if anyone has been down this road and what was the outcome.

I haven't seen a difference between Berger and SMKs in my son's rifle as far as powder weight is concerned. I've shot the Bergers in my rifle, they've proven to be very accurate out to 600 yards.

I'd like to know too. I have a bunch of the Berger 168s now but I've been very happy with the SMK 168 too.

I'll let you know. Will be trying them next Monday. Also going to try the berger 175 OTM because I see the 168 BT is now discontinued.

The VLD Target, and I should say it was some time ago that I heard it. I don't know if the 168 VLD Hunting is headed in the same direction.

Doesn't appear the 30 cal 168 Target VLD has been discontinued:

I see in the Berger bulletins that the 168 Target VLD Moly was discontinued in 2010.
