Bergara BMR with Cortina V1 tuner

Anyone out there used Eric's V1 tuner on a BMR? Need feedback before I invest $$$.

Couple of youtube vids out there, but want other real user feedback.

My BMR will not group any better than 3/4 MOA at this point, I want to be competitive at 100 yards.

Thanks

I don't own either but from what I hear and kinda from Eric's vids, the tuner will do something. Who knows if good or bad or big something or small something but something. Listen to some of his vids

What ammo? Any lot testing? As JD says, you're already competitive. and you will get more out of good ammo than a tuner. No tuner can make run of the mill anmo great, but they can make really good ammo great.
I use tuners on a couple of rifles and what I like best about the EC is no set screws needed to hold your tune.

If a shooter is getting regular and consistent .75 MOA groups at 100 yards with a Bergara BMR, he should count his blessings and continue to shoot it as it is.

If only the best (presumably 5-shot) groups are .75 MOA and results are less than consistent, the ammo is unlikely to benefit from a tuner.

With regard to tuners and a BMR, it's worth noting that tuners work most effectively on barrels a little longer than 18 - 20 inches.

But that doesn't mean you will not benefit from putting one on a 18" or 20" barrel does it?

It may or may not achieve a good tune.

Rimfire tuning has traditionally shown good results using benchrest guns with .900 dia barrels extending longer than 20”. Erik’s tuner is a newer device with that barrel profile is not a well worn path yet.

And for the OP getting better than 3/4” groups at 100y is a loaded expectation. The slightest hint of air movement will open those groups up. Adding a tuner will not help if all of those other variables are not perfectly controlled. Were you planning to tune at 50 or 100?

Thank you for the reply. I myself was curious and should have worded my question as ( or does it?)
However, I probably will not mess with a tuner for now. I do not have any .22rf rifles with the barrel profile of .900" or length that are 22+ inches. I did ask the question for knowledge incase in the future I go this route.

fishnfool, I wish my Bergara BMR shot .75" at 100 yards. 100 yard rimfire f class has my interest.

Get the V2 tuner. It has a spring that holds tuner in place. No set screws. I have 2 V2's on both of my B14R. My barrels are 18" and work great. They will tune out the vertical in your groups, and can tune in that new lot of ammo. See watch

Tuners are not magic, but they are useful tools. They will not turn a bad barrel into a hummer and they won't make bad ammo into good. What they can and will do is help you get the best out of both. All tuners in my experience, do the same thing. The only reasons to choose one over another is cost and ease of operation.
I'm sure the Cortina tuners are great, but they won't do any better than any other. I currently own 6 different brands and have rifles with three different ones for various reasons. The primary reason that I have seen others make mistakes with them is taking too large adjustments. At the beginning of a match I use the warmup to fire 2 or 3 shot groups and look for vertical. Depending on the current temp as opposed to what it was when I set the tuner, I move it out (if necessary) with colder temps and in on warmer. I never move more than 1/16" at a time, then fire another group. If it shows improvement I either stop or continue in the same direction. If worse, I might go the other way. Something to keep in mind is that the tune will change through the day with a 5 degree temp change. Check the tuner regularly. Set it and forget it will bite you in the ass.
