Bergara B-14 Hunter 7mm-08

I have a bergara HMR 308. Same action heavier barrel.

It shoots most factory ammo around 1”. Some a bit less.

Hand loads average 5/8”. Some groups almost in a single hole the largest getting close to 1”. I am not near a good a shot as most guys on here as I am newer to trying for more than a zero check then going out hunting. In proper hands I think it would be lights out accurate.

Any thoughts/experience on Bergara rifles?
A month ago I had no experience or much knowledge of Bergara. I had heard the name, but no first hand knowledge. Now I own 3 of them. Shot the first two I got yesterday for the first time and picked up the 3rd one.

I've been impressed with almost everything so far, but still pretty early on. The only thing I have found that I didn't care for was the ejector spring pressure. But I didn't like them in Remingtons either. But I have a supply of weaker springs I use to correct that.

I don't know how you plan to procure yours, but if you PM me, I might be able to give you a tip that can same you some $$.

I been trying to find one in 22-250
What version do you want?

Not trying to high jack his thread so sent you a pm. Only one I handled was in 6.5 cm at sportsman. No one had the 22-250.
Started looking at them recently and trying to narrow the it down so I can tell the Mrs what she can get me for my b day in couple weeks threaded barrel would be awesome to use my can on it.

Either way thanks for any input or advice if you know how to get a good deal on one

I bought a lightly used HMR in 6.5CM right before Christmas, and it's been impressive so far.I did a stupid thing when I was setting up my full length sizing die and got a too tight round in the chamber and when I went to remove it,I broke the extractor.I got on the computer, emailed their Customer Service at about 7PM and figured it would be a hassle getting a new one. When I checked my email at 7AM,I had a response from a real, live human named Camaran. His email said the parts would be put in the mail that day, free of charge.Sure enough,at 5PM(less than 24 hours)I had a USPS tracking number.A parts kit for the bolt arrived a few days later. That's hard to beat.As for the rifle,it's well made, the action is smoother and slicker than any of my M700's and it has exceeded my expectations for accuracy by a good margin.I even made the statement that it wouldn't be able to do much better than 1 MOA,and it did better than half a MOA with the second load I shot in it.I usually won't consider an imported firearm, but I must say that Bergara is a fine rifle. Not long before I bought it,I tried another Rem. 700 clone, this one starts with a C and costs a lot more than my HMR and it wasn't close to as good a rifle, turning in respectable 3 inch groups at 100 yards with zero manufacturer interest in making it better because I didn't buy it new.OP,you can do worse than a B-14.They are great rifles, especially for the price.

I decided to go ahead with the Bergara. Picked it up yesterday, and cleaned and lubricated it. The bore looks good with only very minor tool marking. Need to mount a scope and break in the barrel. That is going to be a pain given the weather that is expected this time of year. The manual calls for cleaning after each shot for the first five shots, then after every five shots for the next fifty. The barrel is to cool before each cleaning. That will be no problem!

They do offer barreled actions, these fit the Rem 700 Chassis, This might be your best bet if you plan on putting an ARCA rail or weighting it for competition, no point on buying a stock just to replace it.
