What’s interesting is I got locked out quite some time ago (my fault while attempting to change a password) and asked for a password reset. That never went through. I created a new account but it’s been pending approval forever. As I look through now I see a ton of bots that have been approved after I’ve been sitting waiting forever for approval. Ass backwards! For now I’ve given up.

Edit: Well I guess I didn’t really give up quite yet. I saw one of our favorite posters created yet another new account. I was curious so I registered for a new account and it was approved automatically on the new platform. Probably explains why so many bots have popped up.

Hi Joe. I can follow your link on my Android and it takes me to the new site. But when I try it on my PC (Windows 10...previous bookmark deleted and history dumped), the link takes me to the Classifieds. When I manually type in the address, it takes me to the gibberish screen we've seen for days. Weird.... -Al

Al, on my pc, the address Benchrest.com actually takes me to the home page with big link buttons for the classifieds, the forums, and the benchrest calendar.
From there, I hit the forum button to get to the forums and then bookmarked that address which is

The old address ended in a .php if I remember correctly. That address does not exist in the new directory and hence the gibberish shown when you try it.
That gives me this when I add the php

Different approaches for different sets of software.

If you are still getting the above, then somehow your system is auto adding the .php.
figure out how to get that cleared and you should be home free on the "www.benchrest.com".

Things are smoothed out on the new benchrest.com site. ( if you discount that there are still ai bots posting junk).

Simply go to your address bar and type in:

www.benchrest.com

click on the forums button

Then bookmark the new address.

Or just click on the link above to get there.
I am using windows ten and the edge browser.

The archives seem to be available. I did since random searching and pulled up some of the older stuff. Now I wish we could get some of the really old stuff that was lost in an upgrade but many years ago after the upgrade Wilbur said it was gone forever.
 
I signed up to benchrest.com almost a year ago as (Haltom Shooter) and still do not have clearance to post on a thread. Also I can not look at pictures or even match result that someone has posted in a thread. To make matters even worse I don't have the right to send the person in charge an e-mail. I can log in. I would like some one that is in that circle to send me an e-mail and explain how all this works? I do realize that forum has had some problems but I don't understand why the above problems are not cleared by me just logging in. I was going to star a new thread but realized others had problem with this too. It sound like some of the bigger problems are being addressed. There is a lot of great info on the site it would be a great asset to get these problems working.

Mine was in limbo forever and I gave up. On the new forum software it’s an automatic verification. I re-signed up and it went through right away. Try again with a new login name and I’ll bet it goes through.
 
I was speaking with someone at the IBS Nationals about benchrest central. He told me they changed their starting page. You need to delete any old links, bookmarks or favorites you have in your computer. Then type benchrest.com and it should come up. You can then save that address. I tried it and it worked.
 
Well it looks like the benchrest.com forum is getting things going, I was able to post to a tread and open posted items. Many thanks to all who are working on these problems. The new platform does have a contact us at the bottom of the page and I sent them a message on that.
