Benchrest Build Gunsmith Recommendation

I am planning to build a benchrest rifle soon and do have a gunsmith in the Rhode Island area that I use but think I may want to find a gunsmith with more benchrest experience.

Can anyone recommend any gunsmiths for a benchrest build within an hour or so drive of Rhode Island?

Since we are recommending smiths slightly beyond the OP 1 hour drive criteria....my vote would be Jim Borden of Borden Rifles, Springville, PA....near Wilkes-Barre. Jim not only builds rifles, he designs and makes his own actions and has a bunch of IBS shooters points as well. Bob Green also is a great choice. I get beat by rifles from these two smiths nearly every weekend.

Lester Bruno (Bruno's Shooters Supply) is a IBS record holder. He shoots benchrest alot. He also builds EXCELLENT custom rifles. He is in Northern Phoenix area... It is only a matter of shipping. I had a 6mmBR built by him and although it has close to 2k fired on it, it still shoots just slightly over an inch at 300 yards.. It used to shoot under 3/4 in at 300 yards.. Oh and I am NOT a benchrest shooter>>>someone who is might have done better than that..

Here is a very good PA gunsmith. Take a look at the IBS and NBSRA equipment lists and you will see his name as well as many others.
