benchmark in a 223 ackley?

anyone have experience using benchmark powder in the 223 ackley?

I know I have had very nice performance with it with my fireform load of 25.5 grains of benchmark pushing a 50 grain sierra blitzking with lake city brass and federal small rifle match primers.

Now to begin working up the loads for the formed brass...

My .223AI sings with 27.5 to 28.0 of Benchmark with several different 40-gr. bullets in 1:14 twist. Either IMI or Lapua brass.

Curious as to what kind of velocity are you getting with this load?

Surprised to find that I don't have an Chrony info on the Benchmark loads. With 26.5-gr. of Benchmark in a standard .223 speeds run around 3,390 fps, so would guestimate the AI load at about 100-120 fps over that.

that is with 50 grain bullets according to the hodgdon manual.

max load for standard 223 case with 40 grain bullets is 27.3 grains which lists 3,666 as aproximate velocity.
