Bench tripod?

I personally have no use for a bench top tripod scope mount. Tried several years ago, and you're right, they are junk. Better off to use the Sinclair clamp-on type., and for that matter made my own that is clamped to the bench top with the carpenter type squeeze grip clamp. Unlike the tri pod it does not jump around from recoil, and no chance of it falling off the bench. It also takes up less space on the bench top.

A clamp on is your best bet, or a good heavy duty camera tripod setting on the ground... The small bench tripods are to light to be of any good with a heavy spotter.
