Bench Source Annealer Question

How old would one be that has the plate with only the big cartridge holes? I bought a used one, and just trying to date it...it does NOT have the small caliber (223) holes in the plate, in between the larger holes.

Not sure about older models but the holes in the current models accommodate large and small cases. There are other manufacturer designs that use different size plates. I don't recall Bench Source needing multiple plates. Give them a call at 662 895-0803.

Several of the you tube videos show the plate with both large holes, then small holes in between them, spaced evenly, allowing both large cases, and smaller ones using the appropriate sized hole for your cartridge. No big deal, just wondering.

I have on and the top is designed so you can ( fine tune it ) so when a cartridge advances to be annealed it will be centered on the plate that spins under the flame. I have done everything from .223-6.5x284.

The originals came with only one size of holes. You can adjust the plate to center up the case you are annealing. Later on the smaller were added to work better with smaller diameter cases. I can't tell you when the design was changed, but I asked David about it one time and this is what I was told.

I had three .223 cases tip over when it advanced them into the flame (with the big hole) creating some panic. But only three out of 450...

And the other 500---6MM BR, and 308 without a glitch. I was a busy boy this weekend. I'm happy with the Bench Source!
