Bench Rest cartridges CAN be made to feed from a magazine!!!!

This is my first swipe at a video. The long and short of it is that the BR cartridges will feed from a magazine. I am using CDI bottom metal and a modified AI 223 magazine in a short action Rem 700 in a B&C A-3 stock. Hart Barrel with a JET suppressor. The load is actually 3500 fps NOT 3600 as stated. Hornady 55 grain bullet. 22 BR caliber. Maybe somebody can help me out and post the video in the thread, Im not sure how to do it.

Question for the group, with turned necks and ever so light bullet tension, do you want to ram the bullet up a feed ramp in BR comp?

I wouldn't and I think the rules call for single loading anyway. It doesn't appear that the OP intends the rifle BR comp either. I have a Sako 579 that I modified if IRC was 22-250 mag' box and follower and feeds 30BR very reliably.

If they load from a magazine they're not competitive "B"enchrest cartridges because the magazine's internal dimensions have limited the cartridge's ability to tune the barrel to optimum accuracy. Eliminate a magazine and a barrel can be tuned to perfection, if it's a decent barrel to begin with.

You guys are correct in surmising that I am not shooting bench rest competition with my rifle. I learn more towards prairie dogs and long range steel. I only offer this information for all the guys who want to make their BR guns feed from a magazine since theres more to the BR cartridges than BR competition IMHO. ;)

Hi JimP! I tried to call you the other day, but I only have your office number. I hope all is well with you. Not too many guys know Im a closet rifle fiend.....

Snake, It shoots quite well. 1/4" or so groups at 100 are easy. If the conditions cooperate just a little!

Ferm,

Sorry I missed your call. I'm there Mon-Wed so leave a message .

Not too many folks know I'm a rifle nut as well ;D

Hope all is well your way.
