I cant remember right now but somebody actually list the H1000 powder as an accuracy powder for the 6mm Creedmoor. Seem like a bit slow unless your running a 30 inch barrel. For me Reloder 16 is the winner and I have tried Lapua 105's, Berger 108BT's and Sierra 107's and the Sierra's are doing the best at a .050 jump. Even the Sierra 123's in my 6.5x47L shoot best at a .076 jump,... not trying to figure out why but just running with it because it's working...
Here ia an update on the 2 6BRXs from Sat match. The one with close 1800 rds that I retuned shot a 49x50 4X at 500 yds. The 4 x's in .65 the 5 shots in 1.8 helped me get 2nd in light gun. The other shot a bug hole at 200 yds for a 50x50 5x's but a poor 300 yd target dropped it to 3rd place in heavy gun. But all in all a good day. Get out and enjoy our sport guys, there are major storm clouds on the horizon.Good target. I have a 6BRX barrel with over 1700 rounds on it. Last weekend at a 20 shot 400 yd match it left me shaking my head. So I tried something I have never done before. I loaded up with and additional .003, .006, 009 lengthening of the round and shot them in comparison. I am currently shooting .017 in for the first 1700 plus rounds. And additional .0033 tightened the 100 yd group up a bit, over that they opened up a little. Went tonight to 200yd and with one bump right of the tuner shot a 4 shot group that measures .390 with no vertical. 3 literally in one hole than one cut into that at 4 o clock. Same bullet Lefty, 107 SMK. Shoot the exact same load in my other 6BRX but .003 less into the lands. Will find out how it repeats a a 500 yd match Sat. Hope yours and mine both repeat.
Amen...last week at the range I picked up my 6Xc brass, got home to find I harvested 5 6.5 Creedmore brass thinking they were 6Xc. I talked with David Tubbs years ago about making a 6.5 version of the 6XC, and he said he'd already done it, and would send me the reamer if he could find it ( never found it). Said that for him the 6.5 was too low velocity for 1,000 yard competition. So maybe the third world way to make cheap 6 mm brass is to get a 6XC, fire form 22-250 cases into 6XC, and then fireform them in the 6mm Creedmore. The 6mm Creedmoor is a close analog to the 6mm XC. Stand the two cartridges up alongside one another and its hard to tell them apart across the room. At least for my aging eyes. The 6mm Creedmoor Lee neck collet die works fine with the 6XC.
Hoot
Of course. That's how the Palmisano & Pindel Cartridge came about. Not an accident just good research into inherent accuracy potential.I believe there absolutely are cartridges with advantages to achieve superior accuracy.
Load?I sure like them. Heres a 2.3" backed up with a 3.3" at 1k with mine. Lonnie Anderson has shot them at Deep Creek in 1k BR, his son won an action with one at the nationals. Im not willing to say they will agg with the BR based cases but they are not far off.View attachment 1187346
