Bench mods

I guess a lot of folks find that HF bench useful :) Mine is a do-all bench. I added some industrial locking wheels to mine so I could move it around in the garage. Added two more wood vises to it. Moved all the drawers to one side stack and put a stack of shelves on the other side to hold those Plano fishing lure boxes. They hold nuts and bolts, adhesives, small brackets, and anything else I need a home for.

And, yes, the limited movement of the drawers is a bit inconvenient. I was tempted to change out the drawer slides, but, just never got around to it.

I am thinking about adding 2 inline fab 16 inch panels to both sides. It would really increase the utility of my bench and space. I just emailed inline to get the specs on the panel screw spacing. The 16 inch rail would work also.

So I got a couple of packages today from UPS. Still waiting on more. Might add another inline plate to the left side wall next to the sprinkler control. We will see how much more storage I need given the amount I am loading. I added a foot switch for the lighting and ordered a large overhead clamp light for the bench. I have heard LEDs can create issues with the chargemaster so I will have to see how that works out. For now I have the anti static mat and several ferrite cores on the wires.

Well the office is closed today for the holiday but I still had work to do. Unfortunately FedEx was also coming along with Amazon and a few more bench mods. I went in at 4:45am so I could get home at lunch and play.
I am almost there with the bench. I installed the clamp overhead lighting from Amazon and the QC accessory plates from Inline. I am waiting on 2 16 inch ILP panels for the sides of the bench along with some pegboard inline mounts to store things and a swinging tool tray attachment. Last online order will be 2 32 inch ILP panels for the wall next to the sprinkler control. I intend to store my QC accessory plates there and maybe some powder trays. To my right I have a bunch of wire shelves and a long counter I could store powder on as well. It came with the house and it’s solid but it’s still that cheap pressboard material. I’ll upgrade it eventually to a real set of cabinets.

I have to keep my scale on the other side of the room on a separate circuit and away from any vibrations. It also lets me walk from the scale to the reloading press while I'm waiting for the charge to weigh. If all my stuff was on one bench, I would be knocking stuff all over the place. But, more power to you if you can be so organized to keep everything in its' place.

Initially I had it on the other side. I found it annoying so now it’s on the bench. I have so much weight on that HF bench it is barely able to be moved. I am 6.1 260 and if I lean into it I can make the top jiggle. It’s solid as a rock so vibration isn’t and issue.
