They didn't, but we cut it off with a ban saw and cut the pad off the other part of the stock and reinstalled the pad with the screws. Bell&Carlson glues on their pads so they have to be cut off too. The is all kinds of material (about a 1" wide oval hole maybe 2" long) to work with a piece of cake to do. Worked out great. I am very pleased with my Bell&Carlson stock. If I had known what I do now. I could have had them cut the stock for to the LOP I wanted at no extra charge. That's a service the offer but you have to ask for it, I don't believe anyone could tell the difference at looking at the aluminum bedding and the rest of the stock they could tell it wasn't a H&S stock. Except it cost about $150.00 less. I tried buying a H&S stock for a Long Action and the only one the sold was a stock designed for that god awful ASCI with the 1.5 inch clip release and a 6" clip sticking out the bottom. This is a hunting rifle. I wanted either a box magazine or a flush mounted floor plate. So that's why I went looking for something different. This won't be the last B&C stock I buy. RussHow did B&C recommend to cut the stock shorter, if you don’t mind sharing? Thanks!
