I have been messing with my begara bolt assembly. I have the bolt lift/close path polished and the bolt closes way smooth now compared to before. Now upon bolt lift it’s very smooth till approximately 98% open and gets a double click. I have checked repeatedly and the cocking pin is not over traveling slot to create this. I dug a bit deeper not claiming to be a smith or even a great mechanic but when I remove the pin that allows front float section to be removed from rear firing spring section and held together tight with my hands the click stops. I then slid two sections apart. Where that connection pin rides is the culprit for sure. A distinct click.
Does anyone know if it would create a problem I am overlooking to polish and smooth out that transition that when closing bolt puts tension on the lugs ?
Just trying to get bolt to open and close not only safely but also as smooth as possible.
FYI. I did install .008” spacers to slightly close headspace. Removing those spacers doesn’t help with that pin click.
Sorry for my complete lack of correct terms.
The begara is relatively a new world to me
Thanks for any input.
