Before or After

I have several barrels chambered for cartridges from 6BR--22 Dasher,20Br. Question is do you trim BEFORE or after you form to the smaller caliber??

Thanx,
Jim

You need to find your exact trim to length instead of relying on a print...
Sinclair has sintered lead plugs to do the job..
You should always trim after it's formed in the new chamber..

I trim before and after. I trim to the length of the shortest case after expanding, but before neck turning so that I can accurately control the depth of my turning.

I then trim after fire forming and every firing.

Actually, I have a "no go gauge" that I made. If the case doesn't go, it gets trimmed. It's faster than putting it in the Wilson trimmer every time.

Like Preacher mentioned, get the plugs from Sinclair so you'll know the "actual" length of your chamber. You'll see that the chamber neck area may be longer than you think. ;) You may end up not even needing to trim. Know the specs first.
