Definitely controversial. Mitch still lives near the airport and hunts the area where he's killed some huge bucks since the "Controversial Record book buck ". I like that story much better than most out there. Most have bashed and called Rompola a poacher and dishonest hunter. They have zero knowledge of him. Richard Smith did an interview with Mitch. Check it out. I'm sure it's online somewhere. It's the best version of his story and Rich Smith's honest take on Mitch.
