Whats everyone think of hydraulic forming for the dasher?

It works. If you only have one barrel, or limited components, it can be a good compromise. That said, I managed to develop hairline cracks in several cases, so it isn't without risk.

Made my own Hydro former for my 6 br-dx and it works awesome. I have done 150 peaces of lapua brass, and not one split neck or any issues. With that said it only will get about 90-95% of total case dimensions, one firing and its totally done. I will be making my own from here on out if I run any more wild cats.

In my 2 cents its well worth the it.

Not sure this analogy is accurate for the Dasher, but 6BRX fireforming loads are so accurate, we just load em up and shoot them at matches. The wife shot a 596-36Xs today with fireform loads....so why hassle with hydroforming?

+1 on the above, I just fire formed 100 new cases, shot lights out. Fire formed during local 300 comp's, was going to buy one of those hydro dies, but in the end , i thought it wasn't worth it i my case. secret to fire forming for me was 205 primers ( soft ) normal 6mm BR load of varget, 107 SMK with 20 thou jam, and a completely dry chamber. consistant fire formed lengths on cases and very accurate - works for me !

Was this a brx or dasher?

I have two friend who do this, works great. Technique reduces problems. Both found agressive first blows with the hammer cause cracks in the shoulder.
