Bedding the 52D?

I am getting ready to pillar bed my 52D. I need to do this to correct some bedding issues done by a previous owner. I am familiar with the bedding process, having bedded several Remington bolt action fifles, but I am looking for and hidden landmines in the process with the 52D. Any and all advice is welcome.

No landmines, just needs a bit of thought! I assume the bedding in question will be removed first. I glued the nut for the rear screw to the bottom of that pillar and conventionally bedded the front pillar. In the case of this rifle I bedded the pillars first then glass bedded the action. Support the barrel and use surgical tubing or electrical tape to hold the action in place and attach the pillars to the action to epoxy them in place. I would not remove any stock material from the receiver area until the pillars are in place.
Mine was a 52C with the mag well removed - this left a recess in the bottom of the receiver that I used as a recoil lug. If yours has a similar recess you can epoxy in a small piece of aluminum or steel as reinforcement and bed as normal. Frankly you probably do not need the metal reinforcement though. Had a dickens of a time removing the trigger assembly but only because of the age or the rifle - I recommend it for your glass bedding.
The effort is worth it - my rifle became a laser with most match ammo where as it was quite finicky before bedding. Saved me the cost of a rebarrel.
Best of luck!

P.S. Nice stock by the way...

Thanks for the reply. That is what I have been looking for. That is the process that I have used on my other bedding jobs. I'll try to post my progress as I go.

Happy shooting
