What is the best method for bedding this recoil lug ?The front action screw into recoil lug.

I agree with this. With clearance under the lug, you must bed the barrel ahead of the receiver and I think it is better to bed under the lug. If there is a reasonable amount of bedding surface ahead of the lug, one can have clearance under it, even if the screw goes into the lug, and it will work out OK. This is the case with 98 Mausers, Ruger 77's, and P14's. If the lug is at the very front, like on the Sako, Howa, or Weatherby MKV, contact under the lug is best. WHWhen the action screw goes in the bottom of the lug, I bed the bottom of the lug tight to the bottom of the mortise/pillar. Having clearance there will cause stress as the screw is tightened.
The Sakos are very sensitive to this. Make sure the lug is tight on the bottom and rear only.
