Bedding rifle. Examples of improved accuracy.

Will be bedding my 7mm mag soon. Can anyone give me their examples of how their bedding job improved their rifle's accuracy?

I have a 6.5x55 swede ruger that seemed to walk the shots and fliers abounded. So I bedded the action and freefloated the rifle and lo and behold it is now shooting under an inch and it is a joy to shoot now. Hows that for a run on sentence.

I bed all my rifles. On some it has improved grouping and on others resulted in no apparent change. The most dramatic improvement was a rem 700 in 270 (my go-to beater hunting rifle). It had a cheap synthetic stock that seemed to creep. It shot 0.75 MOA but the action screws seemed to always be loose. So I bought a cheap after market B&C stock that turned out to be pure garbage as far as the cut goes. The rifle went to shooting 2.5 MOA. I reworked the stock and pillar bedded the action and it now shoots under 0.5 MOA. It wasn't bad to begin with but is noticeably better now. The change from the drop into the new stock and the bedding was unbelievable.

Go on you tube and search bedding and effects of bedding and freefloating barrels.

On my sporters, I wouldn't say it changed peak accuracy... More so it makes them more consistent and predictable. My 220 swift on a Mauser action would shoot a great group one day, then so-so next time out. The biggest frustration was point of impact change- depending on temp and humidity it would move around probably an inch. Now that it's bedded I can trust it.
I've not yet bothered bedding my factory CZ 527 as it seems to shoot consistently with no point of impact change.

Had a real good shooting Rem 700 that I made copy of the Army M24. I shot it in a 20 shot Long Range match and it would go crazy after about ten shot which up till then I had never shot that many shots in a row. Skim bedded the HS Vblock stock and it fixed it. Solid performer to this day.

One thing is for certain. Bedding your rifle certainly wont hurt your accuracy. In my mind its a must do, if your serious about accuracy!!!! Lee

I bought a 25 WSSM Model 70 last year for a song that wouldn't shoot consistently under 1.5". I pulled the barreled action to find a botched factory bedding job with poor recoil lug and rear tang contact. Upon rebedding, this gun put 10 shots into 1/2" at 100. To me, it was obvious that the terrible initial bedding was the issue.
