I'm building another prone gun. I'm doing the stock myself from a laminate. I've read a lot about the tube gun stocks and am planning on an R5 in the spring for XTC. I've always been told to bed under the chamber of the barrel and float the rest of the way out on a conventional stock. But the tube guns are floated the whole way from the lug forward. My question is, knowing how accurate the tube guns are, do I really need to bed under the chamber of the barrel on my laminate?
