Bedding a heavy benchrest rifle?

Is there some info out there as to bedding procedures,remington style or flat action styles) and rifle balancing?
 
Bedding the receiver only is the usual way, but some still bed a few inches of the barrel, especially if it's really long and heavy. A good stout recoil lug bedded solid will take up a lot of the heavy barrel strain also.
Put a good set of scales under both the front and rear rest and balance away.........

A glue-in is something that most shooters can do. A pillar bed should be left to a smith. There is not an advatage of one to another. This website should have a glue-in procedure if not come back and I will give you one.
As far as balancing the length of your barrel usually determines balance. Adding weight to the butt is not not always the best idea. Well ditributed weight on a balanced rifle is my choice.
