Beautiful morning at Deep Creek

Mornings like these are worthy of sharing, especially when you see Elk on the way to and Moose on the way back…. :)
Of course I couldn’t miss an opportunity to do a little seating test on my varmint /hunting rifle ( aka the tikka dasher) even though it started to get a little sporty, I was able to find a depth I liked and moved from 1k to 546 yards and send a group during a full L-R and of course get kicked out by a let up. Regardless I think this dog will hunt.

Sounds like you have a nice range down there.

The membership fees here are more than reasonable for such a big place, the caretaker does a good job of watching over things too.

I belong to another range up by Canada that goes out to 500 , it’s free to get a gate code but I donate to the clubhouse just because it helps them.

It gets freaking cold up here and winters are long but WTH it’s worth every minute to live in MT.

An the nice thing about Missoula is that when you are there you are only 30 minutes from Montana. :)

Old joke that I like to tell friends who live there. Deep Creek is a great range. Seen a couple of national records set there over the years.

Where is this wonderful place located? Deep Creek in Maryland? If so, my wife and I visit that area for skiing and have never heard of this range.

Sorry, we’re 30 minutes west of Missoula in the Bitterroot mountains.
Great Shooting!!
Thanks for the post Southprarie! if i didnt appreciate the 1K range 10 miles from my house enough these little nudges sure help. that DC sure looks like a Good One. they must have a vehicle to retrieve and put up targets? i found the williamsport range a few years ago so mabie i need to take another trip to Glacier and find DC while im out there. Im becoming to much of a homebody stickinthemud in my old age.
you are fortunate to live out there in MT thats for sure.
