Bearing surface comparator tool

Does anyone make a good bullet bearing surface comparator tool? David Tubb used to make one but is no longer available.

Thanks,
Joe

Just use to two Hornady bodies and two inserts, one on the rear portion of ogive and one on the heel to eliminate any variations of the base in the measurement.I make them both .002" under the bullet shank diameter.

I went to site for Bob Green and that tool can't measure true bearing. It can only measure bearing to base. I think Marks is better and is made from the guy that made David Tubbs comparitors. Matt

That is similar to what I use; excepting I bought from Sinclairs the Davidson's nose pieces (two each caliber) and attach them to the caliper. In fact, with the Davidson base and one nose piece per caliber, I am also able to accurately measure seated OAL to the ogive.

I make my own inserts (bushings, thingies?) bored .002" under the bullet shank diameter using steel, brass or sleeve and bore the aluminum originals Why .002"? Dunno, I figure its close enough to get a comparative number.
I use the same bushings to measure the COAL to the ogive on loaded rounds.
