So Yesterday started out like any other day. Got up with the wife and kids got the kids fed and ready to go for the day. My wife had an appointment to go to at 9:00am across town with my 2 year old daughter so they took off for that while I stayed home with our boys.
About 15 minutes later I got a call from my wife thinking she forgot something or needed something else. Instantly hearing the tone of her voice I knew something was very wrong. She said she rolled the truck.... Ok I thought, are you OK? Then the police office got on the phone... OK....She was Ok and my daughter was Ok but off to the ER they both went.
Now I was thinking to myself for some reason, OK just a fender bender, everyone is OK and the truck can be fixed. Then on the way to the hospital with my sons, I saw about 10 emergency vehicles working to get the truck out of the ditch. I saw the top back corner of the truck and thought, OK that's bad, I hope my daughter and wife are OK, the truck is gone, but that's the least of my worries.
Getting to the hospital, I met with my wife and daughter. Wife was having some issues, but at this time, no major injuries to arise. My daughter running around like any other day. They checked them both out and they are both doing Good at this time.
A couple things to keep in mind after this happened to us.
1. I'm damn glad that I always spend an extra minute when putting in my kids child safety seats. I always make sure to read the directions of every seat I buy and take an extra minute to sinch those things in place. The truck ended up rolling at least once at 55-60 MPH and they ended up resting upside down. That seat saved the life of my 2 year old daughter!
2. Always wear your seatbelt. This most likely saved my wife's life and or saved her from severe injuries. Even if you are just running across town like my wife was.
3. I'm glad I have my wife drive the kids around in the truck. Not sure what would have happened if they would have been in my daily driver commuter car.
4. Always kiss/hug your kids/wife/loved ones whenever you go somewhere. You never know.
5. Things like this always happen at a bad time in most peoples lives, although no time is a good time for something like this to happen, we will be OK, and the most important thing is that everyone walked away from this!
