BC Difference Percentage

A discussion ensued with a few reloader friends recently about just how much difference there is in BC numbers for various bullets. Example: One manufacture's G1 BC for a 175 gr bullet is .495 vs another brand of 175 that has a G1 BC of .533.
Is this difference a direct percentage or is it something much greater?
Obviously those of us involved in the discussion could not agree on an answer so reaching out to those that might know.
Thanks in advance.

Run them through JBM and see what difference it makes at your velocity, at your shooting locations, at the actual distances you intend to shoot at.

Other thing to consider is that not all advertised BC ratings are accurate.
